Gluten Free Peruvian Steak Saute
- 1 lb grilling steak (flat iron, sirloin), cut into strips
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp gf soy sauce
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp pickled jalapeno peppers
- 2 Tbsp fresh cilantro
- Mix vinegar, soy sauce and cumin together.
- Place mixture and meat in a ziploc bag or tupperware container.
- Marinate in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.*
- Preheat large saute pan on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Place oil in pan.
- Add the onions and garlic.
- Cook 4-5 minutes or until onions begin to soften.
- Add beef (discarding marinade), jalapenos and cilantro.
- Cook and stir until steak is no longer pink; about 4-5 minutes.
The marinade is naturally acidic. Marinating much longer than 20 minutes may begin to cook the beef.
